Carrie Underwood shared a video today from her last day in the recording studio prepping for her latest (as yet untitled) album, set to be released on May 1st. In the video, she gives fans a sneak peek of her new single “Good Girl“, which will hit radio stations across the country this Thursday (Feb 23).

Their young voices soared in the space where pioneers of country music had been heard, but their boots were the first to tap time on the new stage. The Band Perry played to a full house last night at the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville, TN.  When tickets went on sale last fall, the show sold out in a staggering twenty minutes, a first for the breakout trio.

The hot country music act was the first to perform on the new stage at the Ryman Auditorium. The trio’s concert Monday night was the first public performance since a 61-year-old oak floor was removed and replaced with teak laid over a reinforced structure. Ryman officials said the new stage could last for a century or more.

Rascal Flatts and AEG Live, in conjunction with NCM Fathom, will present a special one-night-only in-theater event that will take place across the nation at 7 p.m. Central Thursday, April 5.

“Rascal Flatts – Changed: One Night Exclusive Theater Event” will deliver exclusive never-before-seen access into the lives of guitarist Joe Don Rooney, lead singer Gary LeVox and bassist Jay DeMarcus, along with exclusive live performances of their biggest hits and music from their new album,Changed, set for release April 3 on Big Machine Records.

Tickets for “Rascal Flatts – Changed: One Night Exclusive Theater Event “will be available to the U.S. public in early March at www.FathomEvents.com, according to the announcement. The event will also play at select Cineplex Entertainment theatres across Canada.

Kix Brooks will release his first solo single, “New To This Town” (featuring Joe Walsh), to radio on March 19. After spending twenty years as one half of Brooks & Dunn, the most successful duo in country music history, Kix is heading in his own direction.

“It’s a freedom of sorts,” shares Kix about Brooks & Dunn coming to an end. “It’s not a bitter freedom by any means, just sort of a ‘well that was fun, now what?’ Sort of like being at a theme park and looking around after riding the same roller coaster you finally say, ‘Ok I think I’ll try that one over there!’”

Kix’s ‘new ride’ begins with his first solo single on Arista Nashville, “New To This Town” (featuring Joe Walsh), co-written by Brooks and longtime friends Marv Green (Brooks & Dunn’s “Proud Of The House We Built”) and Terry McBride (Brooks & Dunn hits “If You See Him/If You See Her” and “Play Something Country”).

“It paints the powerful emotion we’ve all known, of lost love and the uncomfortable situation of running in to that person again.” Kix says that “after a couple phone calls, and the sending of a music file across the internet, the man himself put his stamp on ‘New To This Town’ like only Joe Walsh could!”

Both his breakthrough single, “Red Light,” and “Let It Rain,” the record-setting #1 from David Nail‘s sophomore album, The Sound Of A Million Dreams, have been certified gold by the RIAA for over a half million downloads each. With “Let It Rain” spending over 48 weeks climbing to the top of the country charts, the slow build has seen both songs benefiting from the extended rise.

“It was funny to see ‘Red Light’ starting to pick up downloads again,” Nail says of his double certification, “but I think when people heard or bought ‘Let It Rain,’ they went back and found it. It makes me feel good that the songs I’ve recorded have staying power. It’s not just about being a hit, but it’s the moments the songs contain being kind of timeless.”

Finding songs that are built to last has been Nail’s mission since arriving in Nashville almost a decade ago. If it means the climb is slower, Nail is okay with it… as long as it feels like he’s building a career on solid music.

“When I started doing this, that’s what I dreamed of,” Nail admits. “The idea that these songs could be somebody else’s life, feelings, or reality… that’s what I was hoping for. You know, that’s what the songs I’ve loved the most have meant to me. They made me feel something.”

Luke Bryan will release his fourth Spring Break themed EP – Spring Break 4…Suntan City on March 6, 2012. The 4 song EP features original songs created especially for this release- “Suntan City,” penned by Luke, Dallas Davidson, Rhett Atkins and Ben Hayslip; “Spring Breakup” by Luke and Ashley Gorley; “Little Bit Later On” co-written by Luke, Ashley Gorley and Luke Laird and “Shake The Sand” by Luke, Michael Carter and Cole Swindell.

Luke will once again perform concerts at Spinnaker’s Beach Club in Panama City, set for March 13 and 14 where in previous years over four thousand fans filled the beach to watch him perform. Luke’s ability to attract such large crowds in the area is what drew the attention of the Panama City Convention & Visitors Bureau, who tapped Luke as a spokesperson.

Rascal Flatts announced last month that their highly anticipated eighth studio album titled Changed will be released April 3. This week, the band revealed the new album’s track listing and announced that Changed also will be available in a deluxe version that will include four additional bonus tracks. The deluxe version of the album, Changed Deluxe, will be available in most retailers on April 3 as well.

The first single from the new album, “Banjo,” was released to country radio just five weeks ago and is already a top 20 hit and climbing. “Banjo” also was released this week as a single on iTunes, where it is now a top 10 single on the iTunes country chart.

Currently, the band is performing across the country on their Thaw Out Tour, which earned a slot on CMT’s “Top Tours of 2012,” and on June 15 the trio will kick off a new summer tour, Farmers Insurance presents The American Band Tour with Little Big Town, Eli Young Band and Edens Edge.

Jake Owen was thrilled to perform on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Valentine’s Day. In fact, before boarding the plane to NYC, Jake was telling everyone Happy “Fallontine’s” Day.

“Meeting Jimmy Fallon yesterday and performing on his show was such an awesome experience,” says Jake. “He is a true musician and music lover. Our dressing room had a piano and several instruments that we were all passing around before the show. It was really cool, and having the opportunity to spend Valentine’s Day in New York City was amazing.” You can view Jake’s performance of his hit single “Alone With You” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon here.

Jake is also selling out shows in record time around the country. He has sold-out ten shows to date in 2012. His show at Joe’s Bar in Chicago sold-out in 10 minutes so a second show was added. The second show sold-out the first day it was on sale. This week, his show in Ohio on March 17 sold-out in 18 minutes.

2012 started out a little rough for Jake. He had to reschedule a few shows in January after breaking his collarbone while he was snowboarding during the BMI Songwriters Festival in Crested Butte, CO, but it seems as though things are looking up.

Jake’s current single, “Alone With You,” is Top-10 this week on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and Country Aircheck.

Only six weeks into 2012 and Chris Young continues to notch more career accolades. The year began with a sold-out headlining show, a performance on the popular syndicated daytime program The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the kick-off of the “On Fire” tour with Miranda Lambert, ACM nominations for Male Vocalist and Single of the Year and most recently, his fifth consecutive #1 with “You.” The list continues to expand with the tandem RIAA GOLD certifications of his chart-toppers “You” and “Voices.”

The GOLD-certified single “You,” written by Young with Luke Laird, is the baritone’s fifth consecutive #1 track and the second single from his recently released album, Neon. With the song’s recent chart domination, Young becomes one of only two solo artists to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with their five most recent singles.

Keith Urban packed 16,799 fans into San Antonio’s AT&T Center this past Saturday, setting a new attendance record for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. The 62-year-old event, one of San Antonio’s most prestigious, has attracted some of country music’s biggest artists including Reba McEntire, Brooks & Dunn, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith and Taylor Swift.

Urban, who early this month became the last to perform on the existing Grand Ole Opry stage (currently undergoing renovations), also looks to be on the verge of his 3rd consecutive #1 single. “You Gonna Fly”, which currently stands at #2 follows two consecutive #1s, “Long Hot Summer” and “Without You”, both from Get Closer.

In addition, the release of Urban’s “For You”, co-written with Monty Powell, will mark the first time that Urban has written and recorded a song specifically for a motion picture. It will be featured in the upcoming Navy SEALS film Act of Valor, during its end credits and on it’s soundtrack to be released on February 21st.
